Rolex
Chronograph "Piccolino"

Ref.: 3055

By the late Fifties, Rolex had established precise aesthetic canons that define the Maison’s watches up to the present days and are used as benchmarks by the entire industry. But what was Rolex prior to stainless steel Oyster cases, professional diver watches and three-register chronographs? This 3055 “Piccolino” - Little One, as Italian collectors named it - can help us understand: with its modest 30mm size, wonderful applied kite hour markers and square chronograph pushers, it is a perfect example of the essential yet very decorative design found on the earliest timekeepers of the Crowned house.

The example we present today is very special; not only for its outstanding conditions, but also for the extreme rarity: the production of the reference was already scarce, but pink gold cases - like the present one - were manufactured in a mere 20 pieces. Do you think any other has survived in these conditions?
